FAQ
Will my PDF be uploaded to a server?
No. Watermarking runs entirely in your browser via pdf-lib. The PDF is never uploaded and is cleared on download or refresh.
Does the text watermark support Chinese?
Yes. The text watermark is rendered locally with browser fonts into an image, then embedded into the PDF, so Chinese, English, and symbols all display correctly.
Can the watermark be added to every page?
Yes. The tool automatically adds the watermark to every page of the PDF with the same position and style.
What's the difference between 9-grid position and tile?
9-grid position places a single watermark at a chosen spot (e.g. bottom-right); tile repeats the watermark across the whole page in a grid, ideal for copyright protection.
Does watermarking affect PDF clarity?
No. The watermark is overlaid on the page; the PDF's original text, images, and layout stay exactly the same, with no clarity loss.
Can I remove the watermark afterwards?
The watermark is burned into the PDF and can't be removed by this tool. Keep your original PDF if you need a watermark-free version.
