FAQ
Why remove PDF metadata?
PDFs store the author, creation time and producing software. Clearing these fields before sharing resumes, contracts or bids avoids leaking personal or company information.
Does editing metadata change the PDF content?
No. Only the document information dictionary is rewritten — no page is re-encoded, and text, images and quality stay exactly the same.
Are the dates updated automatically?
Saving updates the modification time to now, while the creation time is kept from the original document (or set to now if it had none).
Is my PDF uploaded to a server?
No. Reading and writing happen entirely in your browser. The file never leaves your device and memory is cleared on download or refresh. Limit: 50 MB per file.
