FAQ
Are my images uploaded to a server?
No. All compression happens locally in your browser. Your images never leave your device and are cleared when you refresh or close the page.
Will compression hurt image quality?
At the default 80% quality the difference is virtually invisible, while file size typically drops 60-80%. For maximum fidelity, raise the quality slider in quality mode.
How do I compress to an exact size?
Choose target size mode and enter the KB you need (e.g. 200). The tool automatically adjusts quality and dimensions to hit the target. For PNGs, converting to JPG or WebP makes small sizes much easier to reach.
Which formats are supported?
JPG, PNG and WebP input, with output in the original format or converted to JPG/WebP. GIF and HEIC are not supported yet — use our HEIC Converter to turn HEIC photos into JPG first.
